August 1st was a big day for our family...it was Sophia's baptism day. It was a very nice ceremony and Sophie was VERY good the whole time. I was so proud of our baby. She actually slept on daddy through most of the ceremony...which was too precious. We'll have pictures to post soon! For the past few weeks Sophia has been getting up on all fours. She's also started rocking back and forth and then throwing herself forward to get to something. Then she gets right back up and does it over again until she gets to what she wants. She truly looks like an inch worm moving across the room. I actually don't think she's going to crawl any time soon because doing the inch worm seems to be getting the job done for her right now. Here's a little video of her doing the "worm"! Just the last couple of days she has also started to push up onto her feet from all fours....hope to get a picture of that soon.
Unfortunately, Sophie's reflux has flared up the past few weeks (I think because she's moving around so much now) and we've had a major step back on the sleep front. We had to try a couple different things with her medicine and just a few days ago started a new medication, so hopefully that will help. These past few weeks have been a big and scary flashback for Andy and me. I guess we were starting to get a little too used to a baby who sleeps in her crib!
But back to the good news...Sophie started a new day care August 10. Nanny Sara was helping us out watching her until we got into my work day care. We finally got a spot and she has been doing great with the transition. Being around all of the other babies and so many new things really helps tire her out during the day. She actually sleeps good for them...at least she's sleeping for someone right?! She does miss spending time with Nanny Sara though!
Some more pics - Sophie is starting to drink from a sippy cup...such a big girl!
Look mom, I can stand!

Sophie LOVES watching the cat's now! She laughs and smiles every time she sees them. Whenever she's on the floor she tries to worm her way over to them...but the moment they see her coming they are outta there! Here's some video of Andy and her having a fun time playing with the cats.
And Sophia had her first trip to the zoo last weekend. We went to the zoo a la carte (it's like a taste event but at the zoo) with some dinner club friends. It was a great time. Sophie didn't really notice the animals too much this time around, but there was a lot of other activity so we didn't get much of a chance to stop at many of the exhibits. I'm sure there will be many more zoo trips in the future though.
Having fun at the zoo...
Watching the bears with mom...

After a long day at the zoo...
On a final note...we've started thinking about Halloween costumes. Take our poll to vote for the costume you'd like to see Sophia in this year. Hurry polls close in 2 weeks!
