Now where did we leave off last? Ah yes...on to June. Mackenzie started the month of June by learning to skoot. And I can tell you she hasn't stopped moving since!
Mackenzie trying out her new swing.
I love to eat!
We continued our June with an eventful Father's Day. Actually Andy has started calling it Sophie day...here's how our day went: We started the day at church where the mass was outside because it was the weekend of the church carnival. Try taking a 4 year old to mass in the parking lot of a church surrounded by amusement park rides and not getting sucked into sticking around after mass to ride some rides. Sophia had a blast and even asked to ride one of the really big rides with mom, and so the story goes...Sophia asks, mom agrees, mom and Sophia ride, Sophia gets scared, mom fears she scarred her child. Ahh the joy of parenting. But alas I digress...back to Father's Day (a.k.a. Sophie Day) after the carnival (where in addition to the rides daddy's fast pitch skills won Sophia a large inflatable sword) we headed home and since the weather was beautiful we decided to set up the pool and let Sophia swim a little. We took a break for daddy to open presents and then finished the day with a trip to the ice cream shop.
Andy opening his first Father's day gift from Mackenzie.
Getting hugs from his 2 little girls while sporting his "King for a Day" crown that he and Sophia made at school during their Father's Day program.
A picture from one weekend...I sent Sophia upstairs for a nap and this is how I found her. As long as she's sleeping it works!
Enjoying the new playhouse daddy put together for the girls...
Can I take your order?
Watching Richard Parker at the zoo. Those of you that have seen Life of Pi will get that one. Towards the end of June Mackenzie started pulling herself up on furniture. She is not content staying still...just like her sister!
Bring on July. Mackenzie started crawling on July 8th and has been actively working on her standing and walking skills. Here are some more pictures from our trip to Galena over the 4th.
Mackenzie's first ride on the carousel at the zoo.
Going down the Alpine slide at Chestnut ski resort in Galena.
Swimming at the local pool on a warm July weekend.
Best friends...
Sophia has been working so hard on her swimming this summer. She is now officially swimming on her own with no bubble belt...this was a big accomplishment in our house!
Seal? What seal? I don't see a seal mom. This little seal is Mackenzie's favorite bath toy and this is what she loves to do with it. She's even started playing with it outside of the tub so we've started calling her the killer whale when she's playing with it.
At the end of July Sophia's 2nd cousins Joey and Addison came for a quick visit before heading to Wisconsin Dells. They had a great time. The girls especially liked playing dress up in their princess outfits!!
That pretty much gets us up to date. Will try to post some August pictures and update soon!
