Sophia's First Days At Home

We brought Sophie home on Sunday and have spent the last few days settling in as a new family.

This is Sophie the day we brought her home for the first time.

Monday was Sophie's first bath at home.

Don't worry she was being held on the counter you just can't see it in the above picture.

Yesterday we took Sophia for her first doctor's appointment. The appointment went very well. She is already back to her birth weight and they measured her length at 20" so she is growing good! The one concern we mentioned was that Sophie was not sleeping through the night at all these first couple of days and seemed pretty fussy/upset at night. The doctor talked to us about it during the appointment and gave us some suggestions of things to try. I was so impressed with the doctor because he then called us this morning to check in and see how the night went for us last night. It actually had gone better for us and she slept part of the night. After we got the call from the doctor this morning I knew we made the right choice for our pediatrician! Here is Sophie before we left for the doctor.

One of the funny things we have learned is that there are certain times when Sophie is being fussy where nothing will calm her except sucking on Andy's little finger. We've tried feeding, pacifiers, rocking - nothing....Andy offers her his finger - calm. And it has to be his little finger, doesn't work when I offer her mine or when he offers a different finger. It really is quite funny...one of those stories we'll tell her about when she's older. This is how we finally got her to calm down one night...

Ironically enough she was wearing a sleeper that night that said I love my daddy. Too perfect.
What a daddy's girl she is going to be!
